Never Give In

The keynote speaker at my high school graduation told us that Winston Churchill served as guest speaker for Harrow School, 1941*. Pithy, Churchill was. For the great world leader, writer, and orator stood up and said, “Never, Never, Never give up.” Then he sat right down.

To be honest, this has inspired me over the years.

Or so I thought.

Years later I learned that this is a myth. Churchill, in fact, did give a brief speech. But his words to the youth at Harrow School went, “… never give in, never give in, never, never, never, never!”

You can find his speech here, and apply Churchill’s speech to your own life.

One Response to Never Give In

  1. Churchill had such a way with words. I agree, this is a quote that can give us writers some backbone and some desire to never give up, or give in. 🙂
