Bible Verses about God to take you through the Week

pastoral scene

I’m listing some of my favorite Bible verses to take you through the week of October 8 – 14. Because I’m still trying to figure out copyright laws, I’ll be using the King James Version that I found here. Sometimes I change a word to reflect modern English language. (I.e., I changed “sheweth” to “shows.”)

“The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament shows His handy work (Psalm 19:1).”

“The mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear Him, and His righteousness unto children’s children (Psalm 103:17).”

“Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord: And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might (Deuteronomy 6:5).”

“For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting; and His truth endures to all generations (Psalm 100:5).”

“For the invisible things of Him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse…(Romans 1:20; Read Romans 1:18-32.)”

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life (John 3:16).”

“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light (Genesis 1:1-3).”

“And I heard a great voice out of Heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.

“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away…(Revelation 21:3-4; Read Revelation 21:3-8)”

There is so much more. I really love the Bible, the inspired Word of God (II Timothy 3:16-17), and hope you do, too.

What are some of your favorites?

Remembering to be Kind

It’s nasty up in Washington, D.C. There are peeps in high places who are trying to destroy each other. They’re more concerned with selfish ambition than the greater good of the people of the United States of America and the world. I won’t name names. I get so frustrated some times! But here’s the thing…… Continue Reading

Musings of a Neo-Hippie Mom (Part I)

When I was in college, I decided that I was a neo-flower child. After all, I had been born around the time that people were putting flowers in their hair and VietNam was going on. When I mentioned it to one of my relatives, he nearly exploded. Apparently, he had been a real hippie, and… Continue Reading

Trusting God During Catastrophes

“See that you do not despise one of these little ones. For I tell you that in Heaven their angels always see the face of my Father who is in heaven (Mt. 18:10; ESV).” As a mom of a precious school-aged child, the interviews with children who survived Monday’s tornado rocked me to the deepest… Continue Reading
